Job description

STX Next is seeking a Google Cloud Engineer eager to learn and responsible for ensuring the continuity of infrastructure operations and automation of processes in production environments. The person in this position will collaborate with software development teams and the IT department to ensure system performance, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and managing tools for CI/CD process automation.

  • Configuring, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud).

  • Ensuring infrastructure security through the implementation of best practices and security tools.

  • Optimizing system performance and scalability.

  • Collaborating with software development teams to automate software development processes.

  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to configuration and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • GCP certification (Associate level at least) is a must-have for this role, demonstrating a solid understanding of the platform and its best practices. We value candidates who have invested in their professional growth.

  • Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform technologies and services.

  • Strong database knowledge in the Google Cloud (BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Datastore, Bigtable, etc.)

  • Proficiency in GCP networking and connectivity (VPC, Firewalls, Load Balancing, DNS, CIDR).

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Helm).

  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Familiarity with setting up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).

  • Programming/scripting skills, particularly in Python.

  • Basic knowledge of AWS is also an advantage.

  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles and culture.
